Shakespeare makes life better.

When you see a production of “Cardenio,” you always have to ask, “which one?” Is it The Second Maiden’s Tragedy, Double Falsehood, or something else? This one looks like “something else”–a new play built out of some Theobald, some Cervantes, and a heavy dose of self-referential framing play a la “Kiss Me Kate.” It might be a lot of fun; I wish I had a good excuse to get up to Boston and see it.
Did I hear Greenblatt?

Looks like you’re right.
$70/ticket? Yikes! 🙁
I saw it. I’ve blogged my review. It’s basically a piece of fanfic with delusions of grandeur.
Save your money, because one thing it definitely ain’t is Shakespeare’s Cardenio.
